Sunday and the duck, what more could you want. Just awesome!
Food tasted good but didn't keep a Corona distance. You sit close together and parking space next door costs 2 euros ...
Very good place to eat in Bavarian style.
Food was okay ... not a highlight. Prices are ok. Small and cozy
Unfortunately I can only assign one star here. First of all, the food is really good. And now comes the big BUT. We were there because it is on the way to our apartment. When we arrived and sat outside, we were ignored for a long time. After what felt like an eternity, the waitress came and took our drinks order. Our drinks were brought. The waitress went again and after repeated requests came back to take our food order. My wife got her meal quickly, but mine was forgotten. After repeatedly asking where the food was going and I wanted to cancel, it finally came. When I told the service staff that it didn't work because we were here together and wanted to eat together, it was only tacitly noted. The manager of the store did not respond to the complaint either. It was just pushed onto the kitchen. That is a no go for me, you are a team and should stick together. A simple excuse and maybe a little nightcap would have smoothed things out. However, I have the feeling that they think that only tourists come here and eat once and then never again. So I need to deal with complaints.
The condition at our table was impolite, Barriere spoke or not. There were three of us and the food Kan after 10min, 30min and 1h. The food was okay, with the potato salad coming out of the bucket. At least the beer tasted good.
Perfect! Nice beer garden, delicious food and friendly service. Kaiserschmarrn for dessert is highly recommended :) Was a great evening.
Had a mill pot as a starter and the cordon bleu with french fries as the main course. Both are very tasty. Especially with the cordon bleu you can taste the delicious Emmental cheese, which tastes great with it. The portions are good and the prices are definitely okay too The beer garden is nice and a few meters from the street and is somewhat screened off by trees and hedges. The traffic noise is thus greatly reduced. I'll be happy to come back when I'm around!
Very friendly service, super nice beer garden and really good food! E. there is nothing to complain about .... except maybe the annoying gnats in the beer garden in the evening, but that is probably not in the hands of the innkeeper. :-) Again any time!!
Rustic beer garden, very idyllic location with a view of the old mill wheel and the mountains. We were served by two women, one of whom was very nice and friendly. The other didn’t bother to give his drink to the one who had it best, she just put it a little rough where she stood. The food was good.
Nicely laid out .. THE waitresses are very friendly and try very hard! Food good ... Portions could be bigger ...,). Great beer garden ... Gladly again G
Good Bavarian hearty cuisine at a fair price in a beautiful Biergarten with magnificent scenery. Do stop here for lunch or dinner
It was very cold in the restaurant. The furnishings are showing their age, but are quite atmospheric. Unfortunately the food was lukewarm to cold. The taste was okay, I found the portion small. Overall, not a nice stay for us.
Very nice beer garden and very cheap food all in all a nice stay. Mango was simply that the food stood on the grill too long until a waitress called. That for information for the boss. Otherwise, I can recommend the restaurant with a clear conscience. The Kaiserschmarn is a must - a small portion is enough for two as dessert. Easy to reach on foot. The Ettaler beer is also very good. Another suggestion for improvement - check the toilets more often. We'll be back and we're already looking forward to it.
Very good!!!
Great German brewery! I expected that and nothing more and nothing less. Fast service good food and not that expensive 😊 I recommend
I forgot to photograph the soup but the food is more than wonderful / super. A big compliment to the cook.
Delicious Kaiserschmarren, but the large portion is not bigger, it only comes with two forks. Maybe it was a coincidence. Friendly service. The coffee is not very good.
Have just been to the Ettaler Mühle and after all the great reviews we were looking forward to a delicious meal. Well, unfortunately the landlord decided to close the shop at 6 p.m. today. We hope it was just the rain and will try again later this week. Everyone deserves a second chance.
Price-performance ratio does not match. Waitress not friendly. Standard range of dishes that are served elsewhere with more love and also more tasty. I would suggest that so many tourists come here that the operators have lost sight of a successful service.
Everything was just fine today. From the very tasty salad with house dressing to the unforgettable apple strudel with vanilla sauce. Really delicious!
Super nice patch of earth. Great walks / hiking trails on a crystal clear river & a beautiful beer garden with delicious food.
Cosy historic location with authentic Bavarian food and Ettaler beer! Good price performance ratio, NOT one of these tourist traps.
This place where the unique architecture of 15th century palace.after walking g thru for hours nice place to enjoy lowenbrau tasting beer.
There was nothing special about the food and the service was quite slow
We spontaneously stopped looking for something to eat and it was the right decision. The beer garden was very comfortable and the service was super friendly and the food was delicious. We like to come back when we are nearby.
Very nice restaurant in an old mill on the river Ammer. Ease accesible from the mainroad between Oberammergau and Ettal by car and also on foot as it lies on the hiking trail between these villages. I enjoyed the typical "Rindsuppe mit Pfannkuchenstreifen" and "Flammkuchen".
Amazing food and inexpensive. Special of the day was roasted duck...it was the best duck I have ever had in my life! If you visit the Ettal monastery put this restaurant on your must visit list!
The food was good but the service was terrible - the waiter ignored us, we waited a lot for the menu, food and receipt.
Great Bergsteigerschnitzel !!!
Nice place, perfect to eat something or just grab a beer. Good service.
Normal
Not good at all. Schnitzel was not cooked throughout and had raw pieces. Potatoes were undercooked. Service was slow. 1st time and last time we would go there.
Just Fabulous! A must visit along with the Brewery and the Monastery while in Ettal!!
Really nice beer garden next to the old water mill. Close to the Linderhof road so a perfect way to finish off a visit to Lugwigs castle
Good things: -Great great prices -Gigantic portions -super tasty -fantastic customer service, authentic clothing and very well polite to tourists -English speaking and English menus, also Italian and russian -fantastic interiors and fantastic beer garden outside -perfect stop among the route to Linderhof -Great delicious beer -Amazing nature -Great food selection, beer selection and wine. Bad things: -not much, maybe the food was a bit too oily but was so delicious Conclusion: Go. Don't think. Go.
Delicious!! Friendly helpful staff! They take card and they have English menus. Most of the staff spoke good English. The bavarian dishes are wondering! Beautiful beer garden
Very tasty schweinebraten and bratwurst, although sauercraut was way too sour :) Good place to stop for lunch on the way to Linderhof, seems to be popular among locals too.
Good typical Bavarian food at very reasonable prices. Beautiful scenery. Local beers. What more can you ask for?
My wife and found this restaurant last week (November 2013) while touring Bavaria. It has to be among the most beautiful areas anywhere (Lake Plansee should not be missed). During the warm weather months, they have a very nice outdoor seating area, but it was a bit cold for that for us on this day. The restaurant is a traditional Gasthaus, and the seating is family style. We were seated with two other local couples. The Frau (waitress) spoke some English, and they had menus available in English as well. We sampled the local beers produced by the local monastery (Kloster Brauerei), and they were excellent. We both had different types of schnitzel. My wife had a schnitzel stuffed with mustard and breaded. Mine was topped with a layer of sliced tomato and cheese. They were both excellent. Their house is roasted duck. We finished our meal with apple strudel.
